    This book explains in depth the history, science & production of chocolate. There is a good section on chocolate appreciation for would-be connoisseurs. The last chapter is devoted to recipes that includes noted pastry chef Laurent Tourondel’s heavenly Two-Toned Candied Cacao Beans Dipped in Chocolate & a recipe dating from the Italian Renaissance for Chocolate Jasmine Ice Cream. This book is a useful reference that will appeal to anyone with an interest in artisanal foods. Given to me as a birthday present several years ago, this book was what sparked my enthusiasm for chocolate making!

    Wanna scrub up on foodie trivia? This book has an eclectic mix of interesting facts - such as the joys & disadvantages of garlic, durian, fugu, & asparagus… - &
    about the dining club whose members ate their meals in reverse? I love that this book is beautifully printed on good quality paper, & is small & light enough, perfect for taking it out in your bag!

    This cult classic 1986 film is about a widowed ramen (noodle) shop owner who is coached by mysterious strangers. Their goal is to make the PERFECT noodle. When you watch this, you’ll understand why the Japanese people have a national obsession for ramen & good food. Just make sure you reserve a table at a proper ramen restaurant for after watching the film, because this film WILL make you want to eat one straight after! - I first saw this film when I was like 12 I think, & the sexual use of the egg yolk was sooo wierd as a concept, … but I remember I couldn’t take my eyes off the screen, embarrassed & blushing…!
