Coco&Me stall images
.
So sorry that I’m posting events in such a non-chronological way, but here are some pictures that photographer Andy Andrews took back in July 2011.
.
I’ve known Andy from about 6, 7 years ago. We used to take our children to the same playgroup run by the local church! He’s taken these for an image library – so if there’s any of you out there who want to use these, please contact him for usage rights! :)
.
How lovely! Sure glad it’s close to lunchtime….now I’m starving ;)

How gorgeous (as usual)… am glad I just ate before looking at these ;) Are the heart-shaped tarts to the right of the lemon tarts pear and frangipane or apple? xx
Comment by Rachel - May 10, 2012 11:21 am
Hi Rachel!!
Cheers!! :) :) :) The tart in question is indeed pear and frangipane!!! One point to you! xx

Oh my god Tamami, this is beauty and feel good together in a nutshell. Everything in the photos, is so gorgeous, I cannot stop staring. Thank you for posting these, loved looking at your stall (at least virtually, for now).
By the way, I thought you were a mother of two? Are you sure you didn’t pay some young, pretty college girl to pose for the pics? :D

Hi Tamami!
I must say I’m very impressed with your baking! I can’t imagine anyone walking past your stall and not succumb to your bakes! There are so many things that I like in those photos that you’ve posted. The intricate bird pattern on your cheesecakes, the way you placed some sliced cakes on top of remaining cake to give this rustic look of a block of cheese in a fromagerie..
I’ve been reading your other posts as well and have since assimilated the techniques and tips that you so kindly share with us into my baking. I’m a complete amateur but I’ve definitely learned a lot just by reading your blog entries!
Thanks for this blog!

I can’t think of anything I’d want from US, and besides, your presence alone would be a good enough gift for me!!!!! All the very best to you Roxanne!! T xx

You know what I actually picked up some tips from your blog entry on macaron making, i.e; the temperature (190 first then down to 160) because my oven’s doesn’t produce enough heat from the bottom. Your other posts have also inspired me so much especially in regards to decorations! I am not really a fan of fondants and prefer simple yet elegant decorations. Most of your bakes really capture the essence of those two criteria. Can’t wait for your next blog entry!

Adel, I’m super happy that you’ve been picking baking tips from my recipes!!! :) Thanks for letting me know, it’s super important for me to hear that my recipes are received well – it keeps me going! Cheers! xx

Hi Rachel!! Likewise, was happy to see you last Saturday! You seemed very well & happy! xx
Comment by Tamami - May 28, 2012 9:54 am
Hi Tamami, I adore your blog and hope to pay a visit to your stall one day (I’m in Australia).
I just wanted to thank you for the macaron recipe! I made them this weekend and they turned out lovely :) May I ask if you have any other suggestions for fillings? Thank you very much.
Comment by Renee - May 29, 2012 10:25 pm
Hi Renee!! OOOOH! Thank you for trying the recipe! The first filling I can think of – which is also the most easiest is creme chantilly! (Whipped double cream with sugar & vanilla)
.
Other ideas might be buttercream – here, you have different flavour choices too – like coffee for example. Associating the colour of the macaron shells to the filling flavour will be best I think.
.
Thanks Renee, seriously great of you to try my recipe! Happy days filling!! xx
Comment by Tamami - May 29, 2012 10:34 pm
Obviously, the creme chantilly has less shelf-life than buttercream so perhaps that also comes in to play when deciding!! xx

I stumbled on your blog by accident – through the vanilla extract test you did ages ago. I used to live in London fr about 6 years and I really do miss it, and now I know about you, I miss it even more! I was particularly blown away by the birds stamp on the cheesecake. How did you do that?
love from Singapore

Aurora, thank you for revisiting my blog! :) London is rainy every day at the moment, yesterday for example it rained heavily all day. Despite that we are now in June, it is winter coat weather. Perhaps the weather part of UK life you won’t miss huh?! :) About the bird stamp – please take a look at this link:

I was visiting London and missed you at your stall, unless I was at the wrong market! Anyway, your blog is lovely.
Comment by J - July 16, 2012 2:42 am
Dear J,
I am very sorry to hear that I have missed your visit to the stall… Was it by any chance last weekend? – I took that Saturday off because it was my son’s sports day at Japanese school. – I always write on my twitter if I am to take that Saturday off, so it’s worth checking prior to coming. – – Dear J, once again, so sorry to have made you journey there but not find me, I just hope you had fun at the market anyway.
All the best, Tamami

Oh my gosh, this looks amazing – Broadway market is one of my faves, will have to make sure I grab myself a cake or two next time I’m there!

Hello Maya!! Thank you for checking out my blog!! Hope to see you there one day!! xx

Hi Tamami~
We bought a chocolate tart from your stall this Saturday, really enjoyed it! It’s my second time at Broadway markets and I really do need to go more. But I always loved your display of prettily decorated cakes! You’re definitely inspiring me to follow my dream to bake although I have absolutely no idea how to go about it. Reading your blog is helping me to think about it.
Just wondering did you do any pastry courses to get to where you are? you seem very knowledgeable! Love to hear your thoughts and words of wisdom. (p.s. if you had the time I would love to get your advice via email if it’s better? Oh not sure if you remember but I was the Asian girl that asked if you take orders online…)
Comment by Diana - July 22, 2012 8:47 pm
Oh wow, hello Diana! I’m glad you liked the chocolate tart!! :) Especially coming from a keen baker like yourself!! – I didn’t go to any pastry course, learnt all my stuff from books, & trial n’ error, test-baking numerous amounts at home, learning from practises. – If you’d like, you’re always welcome to hang out with me at the stall! I’m not always busy there & I could do with some company!! xx
Comment by Tamami - July 22, 2012 10:18 pm
I would love to do this.

Dear Tamami,
Such a pleasure to read your blog, I admire your wonderful creations… I am particularly fond of your truffles and brownies (with I tasted back in 2009) and crazy for your berry tarts. As I am a baker myself (in France), could you please let me know where you bought your heart-shaped pans? I would love to find the same when I travel to London next May… and of course visit your stall again!! Thank you so much for inspiring me…

Sorry for the late reply…!!
I really appreciate your kind words, thank you very much!!!! The heart shaped little tart tins, I bought them in local store, but I have seen them sold online also. Please check out the link below, it is exactly the same as mine:
